Taraba Assembly Speaker resigns

The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Dr Albasu Kunini, on Wednesday, resigned from his position.

Kunini was elected as the Speaker of the Assembly in December 2019.

The lawmaker, who represents Lau State Constituency, said his resignation was on personal grounds, thanking his colleagues for their support.

A member representing Zing State Constituency, Kizito Bonzena, was unanimously elected as the new Speaker on Wednesday.

Bonzena was the Chief Whip of the Assembly before he was elected as the Speaker.
