Taraba judiciary gets new directors as commission promotes 516 staff

The Taraba State Judicial Service Commission has approved the promotion of 516 judicial staff and confirmed the appointments of several senior officers previously serving in acting capacities.

The decisions were taken at the commission’s 126th meeting, chaired by the state Chief Judge, Justice Joel Agya, on Friday.

In a statement issued by the commission’s Secretary, Useni Galadima, and made available to journalists in Jalingo, the commission said the promotions were considered and adopted at its 125th and 126th meetings.

The commission also confirmed Galadima as Secretary of the Taraba State Judicial Service Commission, while Victoria Babas was confirmed as Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court.

Mohammed Loto was confirmed as Director of Area Courts, while Habiba Barde was confirmed as Director of Litigation at the High Court.

The commission also confirmed Mahmoud Lamu as Director of Personnel in the Judicial Service Commission.

It further approved the appointment of Uruku Garba, who was previously an Assistant Director, as Director of Finance in the commission.

The commission also approved the inter-agency transfer of Gilenya Lakodoron from the Taraba State Post-Primary Schools Management Board to the Judicial Service Commission, where he will serve as a registrar.

The latest decisions form part of the commission’s efforts to regularise appointments and advance the careers of judicial personnel across the state.
