The Taraba State chapters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) will embark on an indefinite strike from midnight, Monday, August 11, 2025.
The decision was reached after a joint State Executive Council meeting of both unions on Sunday in Jalingo.
In a statement signed by NLC Secretary Adamu Buba and TUC Secretary Polina Gani, the unions directed all affiliates in ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to mobilise and set up strike implementation committees.
The industrial action, they said, follows the expiration of an earlier ultimatum issued to the state government over issues surrounding the “activities of the biometric data capture committee and its outcome.”
“All workers are hereby directed to stay away from their places of work and withdraw their services until further notice,” the statement read.
