Teenager dies after clash with youths in Yobe

An 18-year-old boy, Moh D. Umaru, has died following a violent clash with a group of youths in Jajeri, Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, authorities confirmed on Thursday.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. as Umaru was returning from Maulud celebrations.

A brief misunderstanding reportedly escalated into a fight involving some Fulani youths from the Lamido Goje settlement, during which Umaru sustained severe internal head injuries.

He was rushed to Specialist Hospital in Gashua, Bade LGA, but was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

Police have opened an investigation and are working to track down the suspects who fled the scene.
