Burglars have raided the Otor-Udu High Court in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, carting away several items, including a cut-to-size gun and court property.
The incident, which affected nine offices within the court premises, was discovered on Monday morning when the Director of Court, Barrister Evelyn Ekefe, arrived for work at about 10:15 a.m.
Ekefe reported the matter to the Onwian Aladja Police Division, stating that the thieves made away with compressors from exhibit refrigerators, a number of court diaries, the firearm, and other yet-to-be-identified items.
Police sources confirmed that patrol teams were swiftly deployed to the scene, while nearby bushes were searched for clues.
The Divisional Police Officer assured that efforts are underway to track down the suspects, and investigations have already begun.
Authorities pledged to provide updates as the probe progresses.
