Ronaldo

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a cryptic message about his future, which has led many fans to believe his exit from Saudi Arabia.

This comes after FIFA President Gianni Infantino said discussions were taking place for Ronaldo to play at the Club World Cup.

Speaking last week, Infantino said: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup.

“There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup; who knows, who knows.”

Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, who failed to qualify for FIFA’s expanded 32-team tournament this summer in the USA.

The 40-year-old forward is out of contract this summer and would need to be released from his deal early to sign for a club competing in the Club World Cup, which begins on June 14.

Ronaldo, in the latest post to his 654million Instagram followers, wrote: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

The post includes a picture of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner lined up pre-match in an Al Nassr shirt.

Lionel Messi is set to play at the tournament for MLS side Inter Miami.

FIFA has opened an additional transfer window from June 1 to June 10 for clubs to make new signings in time for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed Kevin De Bruyne has bought a house ahead of a potential move to the Serie A champions from Manchester City this summer.
