President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.
In addition to his ambassadorial role, Governor Uzodimma will serve as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.
He will work with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors to promote the administration’s achievements and mobilise support for its programmes nationwide.
As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, is expected to ensure harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination within the party, alongside other APC governors serving as Ambassadors of Hope.
President Tinubu, who took office in May 2023, noted that the administration’s reform agenda has already yielded results, including easing inflation to 16.05% in October, stabilising the exchange rate, boosting foreign reserves to over $46 billion, and increasing investor confidence in sectors such as oil, gas, and solid minerals.
Other milestones include a booming stock market, expanded educational loan access for over 700,000 students, and improved passport processing times.
In his message, President Tinubu tasked Governor Uzodimma with ensuring that Nigerians are aware of and understand the government’s achievements under the Renewed Hope agenda.
