President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
He made the request via a letter addressed to the Senate and read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary in Abuja on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

The nominees are Kayode Are (Ogun), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa), and Ayodele Oke (Oyo).
The president, who said the nominations were made in accordance with section 171 (1), (2)(c) and (4) of the 1999 constitution (as amended), urged the Senate to “consider and confirm the appointments expeditiously”.
Tinubu has not appointed an ambassador since assuming office in 2023, an issue condemned by several politicians in Nigeria.
