Tinubu cancels Democracy Day broadcast

President Bola Tinubu has cancelled his nationwide broadcast scheduled for 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, to mark Democracy Day.

The Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, announced this via a statement issued on Wednesday, June 11.

Imohiosen said the broadcast’s cancellation was due to Tinubu’s scheduled appearance at a joint session of the National Assembly.

He stated: “Due to H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, scheduled attendance at the National Assembly Joint Session, the Presidential National Broadcast on June 12 has been cancelled.

“President Bola Ahmed will deliver his address from the National Assembly. All other plans are in order as announced earlier.”
