Tinubu opens new NRS headquarters in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday inaugurated the newly completed Corporate Headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service in Abuja, in what officials described as a significant step in the ongoing reform of the nation’s tax administration system.

The unveiling also symbolised the official shift from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service to the newly reorganised Nigeria Revenue Service, reflecting the government’s broader plan to strengthen efficiency in revenue collection and management.

During the ceremony, the President commended the agency’s progress before formally declaring the complex open. He later read the inscription on the commemorative plaque, describing the structure as “a lasting symbol of integrity.”

The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by top government figures, including NRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside other senior officials.

Details shared by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, show that the new headquarters consists of three towers rising across 16 floors, with office space designed to accommodate nearly 3,000 workers.

The new facility is expected to serve as the administrative hub of the restructured agency and reinforces the Tinubu administration’s drive to modernise Nigeria’s tax architecture for improved service delivery and institutional performance.

If you want, I can make it sound more like a premium feature story or official state house press release.
