President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to rescue the remaining female students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State who were abducted by bandits in the early hours of Friday, September 22.
The Star had reported that the bandits kidnapped an unspecified number of students, mostly females, from their rented hostels at Sabon-Gida which is a few metres away from the university.
The operatives of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadarin-Daji, later rescued six female students out of the abductees.

However, President Tinubu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, condemned the abduction, stressing that there was no moral justification for such a heinous crime against innocent victims whose only “offence” was their pursuit of quality education.
The president assured the families of the abducted students that no effort would be spared to ensure their safe return.
Tinubu pledged that the Federal Government would ensure that educational institutions remained sanctuaries of knowledge, growth, and opportunity, and totally free from the menacing acts of terrorists.
