President Bola Tinubu has asked the National Assembly to consider and approve the sum of N1.481 trillion as the 2025 budget for Rivers State.
Tinubu’s request was read by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, at plenary in Abuja on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio also read Tinubu’s letter during plenary in Abuja.
Zulum to Tinubu: Trust military, not sycophants, to end insecurity
The president declared a state of emergency in Rivers State on March 18.
Tinubu said this was aimed at addressing escalating political and security challenges in the state.
He, therefore, appointed Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (rtd) as the sole administrator to oversee the state’s operations in six months.
