President Bola Tinubu has sympathised with traders and residents of Kano State following a devastating fire outbreak at Singer Market over the weekend.
The blaze, which began on Saturday evening and continued into Sunday morning, reportedly caused extensive damage to the popular food market, destroying goods and property.
The President contacted Abba Kabir Yusuf to obtain a situation report and described the incident as tragic, expressing concern over the losses suffered by traders.
Tinubu was particularly worried that the latest fire occurred less than two weeks after a similar incident razed dozens of shops and property at the same market.
He subsequently directed authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation to determine the causes of the recurring fires and prevent future occurrences.
The President assured affected traders of the government’s concern and commitment to addressing the situation.
