Tinubu tags PDP ‘poverty development party’

The newly elected presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has tagged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‘Poverty Development Party’.

Tinubu said this in his acceptance speech after he was declared the winner of the APC presidential primaries held at Eagle Square, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The former Lagos State Governor, while speaking to the crowd at the venue of the exercise, described the main opposition party as ‘Poverty Development Party’.

The APC chieftain polled 1,271 votes out of the 2,303 accredited delegates to emerge as the ruling party’s presidential candidate.

The governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, who is the Chairman of the Election Planning Committee, declared Tinubu the winner of the election.

Tinubu’s distanced rival and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, secured 316 votes to come second.
