The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Office of the Vice President, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has resigned from his position.
It was gathered that Baba-Ahmed, a former spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), resigned two weeks ago.
Daily Trust quoted sources in the presidency as saying that Baba-Ahmed did not provide details of the reasons for his decision.
He was said to have resigned on personal grounds.
However, it was unclear whether the presidency had accepted his resignation.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Baba-Ahmed as special adviser on political matters in September 2023.
Baba-Ahmed is the elder brother to the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Datti Baba-Ahmed.
