Tobi Amusan wins 100m hurdles gold at 2022 Commonwealth Games

Nigerian athlete, Tobi Amusan, has won the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Amusan, on Sunday, defended her title at the Alexander Stadium in the women’s 100m hurdles final.

The 25-year-old athlete clocked 12.30 seconds to set a new record.

Jamaica’s Britany Anderson took silver in 12.23sec, while Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico claimed bronze in 12.23.

This is coming barely two weeks after Amusan won the women’s 100m hurdles gold at the 2022 World Athletics Championship held in Eugene, United States.

She became the first athlete from Nigeria to win gold at such competition.
