The operatives of the Gombe State Police Command have arrested a tricyclist for allegedly killing a police officer, Inspector Kambarawa Wazani, while enforcing the state’s motorcycle ban.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Abdullahi said the incident occurred at the deputy governor’s office junction, Bauchi Road, Gombe, last Friday.
Abdullahi said the tricyclist speeding from Jeka da Fari hit the police officer, who later died shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
