Troops have neutralised a notorious kidnapping kingpin, identified as Amadu, during a raid in Malafiya town, Atiku Ward of Jama’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Security sources said Amadu led a criminal gang responsible for kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed robbery across Malafiya and neighbouring communities.
He was reportedly on the most-wanted list of security agencies and linked to several major crimes, including the killing of a businessman in September 2025 and an attempted abduction involving a prominent local figure’s relative.
According to the sources, troops acted on credible intelligence and raided the gang’s hideout on January 25, 2026.
An exchange of gunfire followed during which Amadu attempted to flee and was neutralised.
A locally made pistol was recovered at the scene.
The sources said the area has remained calm since the operation, with security forces intensifying clearance and confidence-building patrols to prevent a resurgence of criminal activities.
