Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have defied terrorist threats to ensure peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in parts of Borno State.

Security sources said insurgents linked to Boko Haram had earlier circulated propaganda claiming they would seize Ngoshe town and observe Sallah prayers at the central mosque, in a bid to instill fear and project dominance.

In response, troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Hadin Kai swiftly reinforced the area following an earlier attack on March 4.

Backed by aerial surveillance and actionable intelligence, the military disrupted the insurgents’ plans and neutralised several fighters, effectively neutralising the threat.

On the day of Eid al-Fitr, residents of Ngoshe and Gwoza observed prayers peacefully, with normal activities resuming and no reported incidents.
