The troops of Operation Hadin Kai, Nigerian Army, have repelled an attack by ISWAP terrorists on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Miyanti in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

A credible source at the army headquarters on Friday disclosed that the reinforcement from 21 Special Armoured Brigade engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to withdraw and enabling troops to re-occupy the base.

The source added that the troops of 192 Battalion and 26 Task Force Brigade also responded to a distress call from farmers in Warabe and Sava-Dure communities of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, where terrorist attacked farmers.

“Across other sectors in the North East theatre, troops continued offensive operations under Operation Desert Sanity IV without major incidents,” he said.

The source said the personnel of 4 Demo Battalion and 11 Field Engineer Regiment operating under Operation FANSAN Yamma uncovered a newly established illegal mining site at Fatika junction along the Dogon Dawa–Old Kuyello road in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

He said the soldiers later engaged three fleeing terrorists in Gobarawa and Nachibi, recovering two abandoned motorcycles.
