Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a vehicle allegedly transporting logistics supplies intended for Boko Haram terrorists along the Maiduguri–Mafa road in Borno State.
According to a military source, the vehicle—bearing registration number GZA 359 XA—was stopped during a routine checkpoint operation conducted by troops of the 195 Battalion (Mechanised).
A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered several cartons of assorted medical drugs, motorcycle tubes, and brand-new motorcycle tyres concealed inside sacks.
Also recovered were mosquito nets, rolls of mats, cartons of air brake cylinders for heavy-duty trucks, and cartons of detergent.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment had no proper clearance and was reportedly being transported to Kusuri, a border community leading to Chad.
“All efforts to trace the owners of the items proved abortive,” the source said.
He added that the vehicle, the recovered items, and the civilian drivers have been taken into custody and will be handed over to the relevant military intelligence unit for further investigation and appropriate action.
