Troops of Sector 2 of the Nigerian Army, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have intercepted two pickup vans transporting items suspected to be logistics supplies for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama noted that the operation was carried out following credible intelligence indicating the movement of the items from Dapchi through the Magumeri axis.
During the interception, the troops arrested the drivers of the vehicles, who were taken into custody for further interrogation.
Items recovered from the vehicles included 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition keys, three alternators, two bags of flour, one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, nylon bags containing garri, adult and children’s clothing, a power bank, six mobile phones, and a cash sum of ₦92,600.
The sources said the vehicles and recovered items are currently being held by security forces, while investigations continue to establish the suspects’ level of involvement and any links to ISWAP logistics networks.
The troops reaffirmed their commitment to disrupting supply routes used by terrorist groups and sustaining pressure on criminal elements within their area of responsibility.
