The troops of 32 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, have neutralised two terrorists during a tactical operation conducted along the Akunu–Auga Road in Ondo State.

The Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Major Irabor Njoka, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Njoka said the troops, while acting on credible human intelligence regarding the movement of the terrorists within the area, swiftly mobilised and intercepted the gunmen.

Njoka said the ensuing contact with the terrorists led to a firefight, where the troops’ superior firepower resulted in the neutralisation of two of the terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

The army spokesperson noted that the operation was carried out in conjunction with personnel of Ondo State Security Network Agency and Local Vigilantes on Saturday, February 14.

Njoka listed items recovered from the terrorists to include one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 61 rounds of ammunition, three mobile handsets, a jackknife, torchlight, suspected illicit drugs, charms, and the sum of N39,000, among others.
