Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected logistics courier linked to Boko Haram/ISWAP in Monguno, as part of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North-East.
Security sources identified the suspect as Chari Kura, a native of Gajiram in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State.
He was apprehended at about 6:20 p.m. on April 20 at the Charlie 19 area of Monguno.
According to the sources, the arrest followed credible intelligence that the suspect was on his way to deliver supplies to insurgents operating in Bindur village, located in Kukawa Local Government Area.
Items recovered from him reportedly include 180 mosquito coils, 12 packs of Jolly Jus, an Itel mobile phone, and a sum of ₦500.
The suspect is currently in custody with Sector 3 troops, where he is undergoing further interrogation.
Military authorities said the operation forms part of sustained efforts to cut off supply routes and weaken the logistics network of insurgent groups within the theatre of operations.
