Troops, NDLEA arrest 26 suspects in major raid across Yenagoa

Troops of the 16 Brigade, in a joint operation with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested 26 suspects during a coordinated raid across parts of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Security sources told Blueblood News that the operation took place around 7:00 a.m. on April 1 as part of intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks and clamp down on illicit drug activities in the state.

Among those apprehended was a soldier from the 343 Artillery Regiment who had allegedly been absent without leave since 2019.

During the raid, troops recovered two locally made pistols and a significant quantity of hard drugs and other illegal substances.

All suspects, along with the seized items, have been transferred to the NDLEA for further investigation and possible prosecution.
