Troops of the Joint Task Force North East under Operation Hadin Kai have destroyed an ISWAP waterway logistics network along the Lake Chad axis in Northern Borno State, killing more than 30 fighters in precision airstrikes conducted on the night of April 21 to 22, 2026.
Acting on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance inputs, OPHK air assets established overhead presence over the Kaniram Island axis and confirmed the concentration of over 30 terrorist boats alongside fighters coordinating movement and resupply activities.
Target validation and positive identification were carried out before engagement to ensure high targeting accuracy.
The airstrikes destroyed several boats and dismantled the terrorists’ logistics hub, immediately degrading their mobility and ability to sustain operations.
Real-time ISR enabled rapid follow-on strikes on fleeing and regrouping elements within nearby vegetation, leading to the neutralisation of over 30 fighters.
Surviving elements were observed escaping in disarray, which the military said reflected a breakdown in the group’s cohesion and command structure.
