Truck crushes 2 to death in Ondo

A sand-laden truck has crushed two persons to death at Idi-Mango area along Ore-Okitipupa road in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident which occurred on Saturday, April 6, 2024, was confirmed by the Ore Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yetunde Adesina.

Adesina said the accident involved a Mark truck and a motorcycle.

She disclosed that two yet-to-be-identified persons died in the accident.

The FRSC commander said: “According to an eyewitness, the commercial motorcycle which the victims boarded, manoeuvred wrongly and the deceased fell off as the truck rammed on them.

“The deceased (two males) bodies have been taken to the Ore General Hospital morgue.”

Adesina warned commercial motorcyclists against recklessness and wrongful overtaking.

It was further gathered that the driver fled the scene of the accident, while the truck was taken to the Ore Divisional Police headquarters.
