At least two people have been confirmed dead following a violent family dispute over a traditional title in Gbajibo village, Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.

The incident, which occurred on October 3, 2025, reportedly began as an argument between 30-year-old Iliyasu Umar Sayidi and 25-year-old Ahmadu Isah, both from Bukka village, before escalating into a deadly fight.

Witnesses said the confrontation turned violent when both men attacked each other with daggers, sustaining fatal injuries. They were rushed to the General Hospital in Jebba but were pronounced dead on arrival.

Police officers later visited the scene, documented evidence, and deposited the bodies at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The Niger State Police Command said the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
