Two men posing as members of the Nigeria Forest Security Services (NFSS) have been arrested in Sagamu, Ogun State for extortion of motorists and illegal possession of firearms.
According to reports, the suspects were apprehended on December 28, 2025, at about 8:32 p.m., after residents alerted authorities that three men in security uniforms were armed with hunter-style guns and were collecting money from motorists along Ikenne Road, near the NYSC Orientation Camp.
Security operatives from the Sagamu Division quickly responded, arresting Emmanuel Idu (55) and Sunday Moses (35). A third suspect, Oyilo David (35), escaped and is currently being sought by authorities.
During questioning, the arrested men claimed they were attached to the Sagamu NFSS unit along Agbele Road by Otunba Gbenga Daniel Market.
They also alleged that the locally fabricated firearms recovered from them were supplied by a Commander Kehinde Joseph, who supposedly oversaw their operations.
Security operatives recovered one unexpended cartridge and ₦1,000 in ₦200 notes from the suspects.
Authorities noted that one of the men had a previous record linked to a motorcycle theft case in Abeokuta, for which the stolen motorcycle was recovered and court proceedings initiated.
The arrested men have been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Abeokuta, for further investigation, while efforts continue to apprehend the third suspect.
