The Benue State Police Command has arrested two serving police sergeants over their alleged involvement in an armed robbery, with a stolen vehicle and weapons recovered from the suspects.

Police sources said the command’s surveillance patrol team, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a red Toyota Corolla (2010 model) with registration number NEG-35-AE, which had earlier been reported stolen at gunpoint in Akwanga and was being driven toward Keffi.

According to the police, the occupants reportedly forced their way through a checkpoint at Angwan Lambu but were pursued by security operatives and eventually apprehended at a military checkpoint near Uke.
