UBA: Our Lagos headquarters not gutted by fire

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has debunked reports that its head office, well known as UBA House, in the Marina area of Lagos State was gutted by fire.

Some reports had claimed that the UBA headquarters was gutted by fire on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Debunking the reports, the bank said the fire incident occurred at a building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, which houses one of the bank’s branches in Lagos Island.

UBA stated: “As against reports on online and social media, the affected building is not UBA House, Marina, the Bank’s head office.
