Uba Sani emerges APC flagbearer unopposed for 2027

Governor Uba Sani has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election after polling 459,393 affirmation votes at the party’s primary held on Thursday.

Sani, who was the sole aspirant, secured overwhelming support from delegates and stakeholders across Kaduna State during the exercise, which was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The primary brought together party leaders, elected officials, and delegates from all 23 local government areas of the state.

Chairman of the APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primary Election Committee, Hafiz Kawu, announced the result and described the process as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of unity within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

The motion for the adoption of the affirmation vote was moved by the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, and was unanimously endorsed by delegates.

In his acceptance remarks, Sani thanked party members and residents for their confidence in his leadership, describing the outcome as a renewed mandate.

He said the endorsement would strengthen his administration’s commitment to improving security, expanding development, and deepening inclusive governance across the state.

The governor added that his administration had recorded progress in infrastructure, education, rural development, and urban renewal, and pledged to consolidate on the gains to build a more stable and prosperous Kaduna State.
