Uba Sani hails Tajudeen’s appointment as river basin MD

Kaduna state Governor, Uba Sani, has extended his congratulations to Aliyu Tajudeen on his appointment as the Managing Director of the Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority, describing the decision as a perfect fit—”a square peg in a square hole.”

In a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa, the Kaduna State Governor praised the appointment as both well-deserved and based on merit.

Sani expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting a key national agency to a distinguished son of Kaduna State.

He emphasized the strategic role of the River Basin Authority in the agricultural sector and its importance in advancing the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He lauded Tajudeen as an accomplished technocrat with a diverse professional background.

Tajudeen has served in various capacities across multiple sectors—including education, banking, agricultural extension services, and corporate management.

According to the statement, Tajudeen began his career with Sunseed Nigeria Limited before joining FSB Bank, where he held senior management roles.

He later spent two decades at British American Tobacco Company, holding positions such as Regional Manager for the North, Middle Belt, and South regions.

He also served as the company’s Material Planning Manager and Security Supply Chain Manager. Prior to his current role, he was the Country Manager for Niger Republic and Burkina Faso.

Tajudeen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has completed professional courses in Project and Supply Chain Management.

Governor Uba Sani urged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in repositioning the River Basin Authority for greater impact, thereby contributing meaningfully to the success of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
