Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani

Christian faithful in Kaduna State have applauded Governor Uba Sani for reinstating the state-sponsored Christian Pilgrimage Programme after an 11-year hiatus, describing the move as a demonstration of fairness, inclusiveness, and balanced governance.

The commendation came during the 2025 orientation programme for 50 intending pilgrims sponsored by the state government, marking the first official Christian pilgrimage backed by the state in over a decade after the scheme was halted by previous administrations.

Participants expressed appreciation to the governor, saying the revival has renewed hope among Christian communities and strengthened their sense of belonging.

The Head of Service, Mrs. Jimami Bako, said the administration recognises spiritual development as an important complement to infrastructure and economic progress, noting that faith-based initiatives can promote peace and social harmony.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the programme aligns with the government’s commitment to justice, equity, and equal opportunities for residents regardless of religious affiliation. He urged the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity, and continued development in Kaduna State and Nigeria.

Beneficiaries said the restoration of the pilgrimage scheme signals the government’s renewed commitment to religious harmony and stronger trust between citizens and the state.
