Uba Sani showcases Kaduna’s development agenda at 2025 Asia Pacific cities summit in Dubai

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has represented Nigeria at the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he presented Kaduna’s success story in governance, innovation, and sustainable urban growth.

The summit, themed “Collaborate. Inspire. Transform.”, brought together over 150 mayors, governors, and more than 300 city leaders from across Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and Africa. The global gathering focused on driving innovation, sustainability, and inclusive urban development.

In his presentation titled “Building Partnerships for Shared Prosperity,” Governor Sani highlighted Kaduna’s strides in urban renewal, agricultural transformation, and social protection, emphasizing that his administration’s vision is anchored on expanding opportunities, protecting the vulnerable, and empowering citizens to thrive.

“Our development philosophy rests on a simple but powerful conviction — that government exists to expand opportunity, protect the vulnerable, and empower every citizen to thrive,” Sani stated.

The governor also featured on Expo City Dubai’s flagship podcast, where he discussed “Transforming Northern Nigeria: Leadership, Innovation and Social Impact.” He underscored the importance of leadership and technology-driven governance as key tools for unlocking the potential of Nigerian cities.

During the summit, Governor Sani held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Marwan Bin Galita, Director General of the Dubai Municipality, to explore areas of collaboration in waste-to-energy innovation, sustainable waste management, and modern urban planning. Both parties agreed to deepen technical cooperation and knowledge exchange to advance Kaduna’s transition toward a green, circular economy.

Governor Sani described Kaduna’s participation in the summit as a testament to the state’s readiness to engage globally and act locally, saying: “Kaduna’s presence at APCS 2025 signals our readiness to learn, innovate, and lead. We stand prepared to be a beacon of progress, inclusion, and sustainable transformation for Nigeria and beyond.”

The Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS) is a leading international platform that fosters collaboration among city leaders, businesses, and experts to develop strategies for sustainable and inclusive urban growth.
