Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to peace, progress, and inclusive governance across all regions of the state, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political affiliations.
Speaking on the Governor’s behalf at a book launch event in Kagoro, Kaura Local Government Area, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. James Kanyip, emphasized the importance of harnessing the experience of military veterans in addressing the state’s security challenges.
The event, held at the Gwamna Awan Memorial Hall, marked the launch of the book titled “Professionalism and Service to Fatherland: The Military Heroes of Southern Kaduna.”

Dr. Kanyip noted that Governor Uba Sani views Southern Kaduna as a key partner in the state’s development journey and is committed to leadership anchored in equity, fairness, and justice.
He highlighted that the Sani-led administration has made security a top priority, investing significantly in strengthening security infrastructure, supporting federal security agencies with logistics, initiating peace dialogues in conflict-prone areas, and encouraging community participation in local vigilance and intelligence gathering.
“While military strength is important, we recognize that lasting peace is often achieved through wisdom and dialogue,” Dr. Kanyip said.
“Our retired officers, by virtue of their service, are custodians of such wisdom.
“That is why Governor Uba Sani is urging you not to retire from the service of nation-building. Your uniform may be off, but your mission continues.”
He stressed that the state government is open to collaboration with retired military personnel, valuing their insights and experience in shaping policies and reforms for a safer, more united Kaduna.
“Your sacrifice must not end in silence. Let it echo in our policies, guide our decisions, and inspire our future,” he added.
Dr. Kanyip reiterated that the Sani administration sees citizen engagement as a core principle of good governance and extended the state’s hand of partnership to the veterans.
“Together, we can build safer communities, empower our youth, and foster reconciliation and peace across Kaduna State,” he said.
While acknowledging the sacrifices of soldiers from Southern Kaduna, Dr. Kanyip expressed profound gratitude: “To those who served, we see you. To those who died in service, we remember you. To those still serving, we pray for you.
“And to those who have retired, we still need you. Your names are not just written in a book; they are etched in the soul of our nation.”
