Uba Sani’s peace policies strengthen trust in Kaduna — Deputy Gov

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, has said that Governor Uba Sani’s administration has deepened citizens’ trust through sustained investments in peacebuilding and inclusive governance.

Speaking on Wednesday when she received a delegation from the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA), led by its Country Coordinator, Mr. Jude Likita, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Dr. Balarabe highlighted the impact of initiatives such as the Kaduna State Peace Commission, grassroots engagements, and other mechanisms designed to promote reconciliation across communities.

“These interventions have strengthened trust and made it possible to build a more secure and hopeful future for our people,” she said.

She commended JISRA for championing interfaith dialogue, freedom of religion, and social justice in Nigeria and beyond, noting that its work aligns with the state’s vision of “a peaceful, just, and prosperous Kaduna where every citizen feels valued and included.”

According to her, JISRA’s programmes—especially in bridging divides, empowering women and youth, and fostering interfaith cooperation—complement the state government’s peacebuilding agenda. She pledged continued collaboration with the organization to consolidate ongoing gains.

“Under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, our administration is firmly committed to justice, inclusiveness, and the protection of citizens’ rights as foundations for peace and stability. These values are already yielding results, reflected in the calm, progress, and renewed confidence our state is experiencing,” she said.

The Deputy Governor further noted that the government has set up platforms such as the Kaduna Elders Forum, comprising religious leaders, traditional rulers, and statesmen, to regularly engage with government. She also cited the work of the Bureau of Interfaith Affairs, which partners with religious bodies to strengthen trust and harmony across faith communities.
