The management of the University of Abuja has called on the public to help locate a missing student, Sadiya Usman, a 100-level Accounting undergraduate who was reported missing on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by the institution’s Directorate of Information and University Relations, the student was said to have left her residence at Kontagora Estate in Gwagwalada, Abuja, at about 8:00 a.m. on February 18, 2026, on her way to the university’s main campus to sit for her GST 111 computer-based test.
She has not been seen since.
According to a report filed by her guardian, all attempts to reach her have been unsuccessful as her phone line remains unreachable and her whereabouts unknown.
The university said it has activated its internal safety protocols and is working with relevant security agencies to ensure the student is found as quickly and safely as possible.
Authorities appealed to members of the public who may have seen the student or have useful information about her disappearance to contact the nearest police station or report to the university’s Directorate of Safety.
Emergency contact numbers provided include 08038739945 (Dr Mohammed M. Yelwa) and 09036836734 (University of Abuja).
The institution expressed deep concern over the student’s safety and urged anyone with credible information to come forward, assuring that updates will be provided as new developments emerge.
