US-Nigeria forces eliminate ISIS number 2 man

The United States President Donald Trump has claimed that American forces, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, carried out a successful operation that eliminated a top ISIS commander in Africa.

In a statement shared via his social media account, Trump said the operation targeted Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, whom he described as the second-in-command of ISIS globally and one of the most active terrorists in the world.

According to him, the mission was “meticulously planned and very complex,” adding that intelligence sources helped track the suspect, who was believed to be hiding in Africa.

“He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa or help plan operations to target Americans,” Trump stated, noting that the development has significantly weakened ISIS’s global operations.

Trump also expressed appreciation to the Nigerian government for its partnership in the operation.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation or response from Nigerian authorities or the United States Department of Defense regarding the claimed operation.

The claim, if verified, would mark a significant development in ongoing international efforts to combat terrorism across Africa, where extremist groups have remained active in several regions.
