The Registrar of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo State, Ezekiel Imole Adeniran, has been killed at his residence in Ondo town.
It was gathered that Adeniran, who assumed office as the university’s third substantive registrar on January 6, 2025, was found dead in his Ondo town residence in the early hours of Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The university’s Head of Media and Protocol, Isaac Oluyi, in a statement, described the registrar’s sudden death as shocking and painful.
Oluyi stated: “The devastating news has left the entire university community in mourning.
“He was present at work on Monday, July 14. The circumstances of his death remain unclear at this point.”

Oluyi further paid tribute to Adeniran’s commitment to the institution, saying: “He served with dedication and integrity until his untimely death.
“Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.”
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Police Command confirmed that the registrar was murdered.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, told journalists that the case was reported at the Fanibi Division, saying an investigations was ongoing.
Ayanlade said: “From initial findings, two men reportedly emerged from a nearby bush and forced an unknown substance into another individual’s mouth.
“We are investigating the full circumstances surrounding the attack.”
