Veteran Nigerian broadcaster, Fabio Olanipekun, is dead

Veteran Nigerian broadcaster, Fabio Olanipekun, has been confirmed dead.

The demise of the renowned sports journalist was confirmed by an NTA official on Sunday.

Further details on the death of the veteran broadcaster had yet to be ascertained as of press time.

The death of Olanipekun is coming four days after celebrating his 80th birthday.

His demise comes barely a week after another iconic sports journalist, Sunny Emmanuel Ojagbaese, died in the United States.

He was born as Adesola Olanipekun, but was said to have adopted the name ‘Fabio’ from a novel he read while he was a student at the Methodist Boys High School in Lagos.
