Fighters of the Boko Haram faction loyal to Ali Ngulde have executed two women in the Mandara Mountain area of Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, after accusing them of engaging in shirk (idolatry).
The women were apprehended during searches conducted by the insurgents, who claimed they were found in possession of charms (layu).
According to the sources, the faction subjected the women to a makeshift trial, accusing them of practicing forbidden rituals.
They were then taken to a secluded area of the mountains and executed publicly in the presence of other fighters, in what the group described as a measure to enforce obedience and instill fear.
Ali Ngulde faction has recently intensified punitive actions, targeting individuals accused of sorcery, spying, or attempting to defect from the group.
