The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly arrested some students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), the Ondo State capital.
It was gathered that the students were arrested by the EFCC operatives in a midnight operation in Akure.
The officers of the anti-graft agency were said to have carried out the raid at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
An X user, @temiCokers, who shared the video of the operation, said ten students were arrested by the EFCC officers.
He wrote: “The news reaching us this morning was that EFCC raided two student residences in FUTA with guns at midnight, and ten students were carted away during the night? What’s happening in this country??

“Your people came with firearms to raid students at FUTA last night, disturbing the peace of everyone, causing unrest, taking people and properties away???? Why?!!!!!!!”
Another user, @GracefulStar3, said: “You banned sting operations at night yet, your men came to harass FUTA students in the middle of the night. Should we say the information you gave was fake or your men acted against your orders? Anyway, return our students and the properties your men carted away.”
The EFCC has however yet to speak on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
