The Fenerbahce players were on the pitch celebrating their 3-2 win following the final whistle of the Turkish Super Lig game at Papara Park (Trabzonspor’s home) in Trabzon on Sunday.
The players were hurried into the tunnel by security officials as more Trabzonspor fans stormed the pitch.
Turkish leagues suspended after club president punched referee
Meanwhile, Turkish police have detained 12 people following the pitch invasion.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, on Monday, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that police detained 12 people in connection with the violence.

The incident came just months after the president of top-flight club Ankaragucu was arrested for punching a referee following a match, prompting the Turkish Football Federation to briefly suspend league games.
