VIDEO: Passenger disrupts Ibom Air flight, hits hostess at Lagos airport

A female passenger has disrupted an Ibom Air plane after assaulting a flight attendant at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

The incident was disclosed via a video shared on X on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

The video also showed the enraged female passenger, who was on a Uyo to Lagos flight, confronting security officials at the Lagos airport.

The passenger was seen putting back on a missing wig, and jabbing a flight attendant’s head with her finger, yelling, “What did you do?”

“She is hitting me,” the attendant responds calmly.

In another video, the passenger, while off the plane, screamed at some airport security officials, swatting away cameras, and lunging at persons attempting to hold her down.

She was later overpowered and bundled into a waiting airport bus by security officials.

Reacting to the videos on X, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, attributed the incident to the passenger’s refusal to comply with flight protocols.

K1 apologises over Abuja airport incident

Achimugu wrote: “When cabin crew ask you to turn off your phone before takeoff/landing, simply comply. I can’t understand why simple routine issues would lead to incidents like this.

“Passengers need to understand that they have responsibilities, not just rights.”

The NCAA spokesman added that the issue would be addressed on Monday as details trickle in.

Meanwhile, Ibom Air, in a statement on Monday, identified the passenger as Comfort Emmanson.

The airline disclosed that it has since submitted a report on the incident to the NCAA, adding that it has placed a travel restriction on Emmanson, “who will no longer be permitted to fly on any of our aircraft.”

The latest development comes barely a few days after the incident involving veteran Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, at the domestic terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
