The Lagos State Police Command has begun investigations into viral videos showing officers tear-gassing students in Alakuko and an accident injuring two people in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, made this known in a statement issued on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Adebisi disclosed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), to conduct a thorough investigation into both incidents.
Jimoh condemned the unprofessional conduct of police officers in the Alakuko area of Lagos, stressing that misuse of power and overzealousness by officers would not be tolerated.
