The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
WAEC announced the release via a post on its X account on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, urging candidates to check their results through its online platforms.
“UPDATE: 2026 WASSCE (SC) results have been released. Generate your PIN at http://waec.org and check your results now on http://waecdirect.org,” the examination body wrote.
To access their results, candidates are required to first generate a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and serial number via the WAEC website before proceeding to the official result-checking portal.
Candidates must also provide their examination number, the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration, and other required personal details to complete the verification process.
FG to commence 90,000km fibre optic rollout
About 1.96 million candidates from over 24,200 secondary schools across Nigeria sat for the examination, which was conducted between April 21 and June 19, 2026.
The 2026 WASSCE was administered using both the conventional paper-based format and the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) option, with more schools adopting the CBT system than in previous years.
WAEC had earlier disclosed that the results would be released approximately 45 days after the conduct of the final examination paper, a timeline that has now been met.
