The United States Department of War has announced its readiness for an action in Nigeria over the alleged genocide against Christians in the country.
The Department of War, formerly known as Department of Defense, made the declaration in a post on X on Saturday night.
The Department Secretary, Pete Hegseth, while reacting to U.S. President Donald Trump’s post, stated that the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria and any other country must end immediately.
Trump calls Nigeria ‘disgraced country’ over treatment of Christians
Hegseth wrote: “Yes sir. The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria — and anywhere — must end immediately.
“The Department of War is preparing for action. Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”
Trump had in a post on Truth Social said he has asked the Department to prepare for possible “fast” military action in Nigeria if the killings continue.
