The new feature will be useful for people who have both a personal and a work phone, as they will be able to use the same WhatsApp account on both devices.
While the feature has been long available, known as multi-device, it only allowed users to access WhatsApp from browsers, computers, or Android tablets alongside their primary phone.
The feature will be available on both WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
