The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS), scheduled to hold this week.
Wike, who departed Abuja on Sunday, arrived in Dubai around 4:00 a.m. on Monday. He was received at the airport by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Those on the minister’s delegation include the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda; Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu; Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima; Director of Engineering Services, Engr. Chuks Udeh; and Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.
According to a statement issued by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike is expected to lead a discussion panel at the summit on Tuesday morning, where he will speak on developments in the Federal Capital Territory and engage with mayors of other major cities across the world.
The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum, an initiative of the Brisbane City Council, Australia, serves as a global platform that brings together city leaders, business executives, and young professionals to explore trade, investment, and partnership opportunities across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South Asia regions.
Organizers say the summit is designed to foster long-term collaboration between cities and the private sector, driving sustainable urban development and innovation.
